During and after her first pregnancy, Anuradha put on about 10 kg. One day as she dressed up, she found that she couldn’t fit into her sari blouse. The moment when she realised the amount of weight she had packed on, that was her wake-up call.

Diet and exercise
Anuradha was already working out at a gym before she joined HealthifyMe, but wasn’t losing any weight. The experts at HealthifyMe educated her on a better and more effective workout regime, coordinating her workouts with proper calorie intake.
She began working out early in the morning, for an hour and a half, before leaving for work. Before her workout, she drank a cup of black coffee that boosted her energy levels and aided her through her workout. After the workout, Anuradha ate a high-protein breakfast comprising a whole egg, three egg whites and milk. She began eating five small, well-balanced meals a day and drank three to four cups of green tea. Her meals were high on fiber and included sprouts, vegetables, fruit, chapatis and buttermilk.

Motivation and discipline
Anuradha was determined to lose weight and motivated herself by displaying a blouse that no longer fitted her in her bedroom. This worked especially well on days when she didn’t feel like leaving home at 5 am to go to the gym.

Anuradha found the calorie tracker extremely useful as it provided her with an accurate calorie count of all the foods she ate. The large variety of foods the calorie tracker covered told Anuradha how much fiber, fat, proteins and carbohydrates she consumed in every meal and how much she should consume in a day.
So if she hadn’t consumed the recommended amount of fiber during the day, she could compensate by eating a high-fiber meal, say a salad, for dinner.
