Today’s guest for HealthifyTalks is Brinda Parasuman, a headstrong woman who thrives on change. From being obese, stressed out and constantly struggling with asthma, to losing a whopping 42 kgs in a year, she has come a long way. Stepping down from a prospering career to focus on your health, might sound daunting, but she has done it all.
Charles Kettering once said, “A problem well stated is a problem half-solved”. This is exactly what Brinda did early in her life and we would be helping you soak into the inspiration while she narrates her own story.
So, what was the unconventional path that you ended up taking?
“I decided to leave, an extremely promising career. I moved back home and I turned a new leaf overnight. In retrospect, when I look back at that girl, I’m really surprised at some of the things that she pulled off.”
If there is one piece of advice that you would give to someone who is right now at the same place as where you were at 23 before you decided to make this entire transformation in your life? What would that advice be?
“The first part is to really prioritize yourself. Put yourself first and give yourself the best, fairest shot at living your best life. If that means improving your health, do it. Prioritize that above all else. And if you do get to the other side, do for others what you are able to do for yourself.”
