Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.

Add chopped tomatoes, green chillies, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala and salt. Mix well and cook for a few minutes.
Add Dalia and mix well.
Add 2 cups of water and bring it to a boil.
Reduce the heat to low and cover the pan.
Cook for 15-20 minutes or until the Dalia is cooked and all the water is absorbed.
Serve hot with chapati or rice.
