Ingredients

Urad Dal (split black lentils)

1 cup

Salt

1 teaspoon

Cumin Seeds

1 teaspoon

Green Chillies, finely chopped

1 teaspoon

Coriander Leaves, finely chopped

2 tablespoons

Oil for deep frying

Directions

Step 1:

Soak the Urad Dal in water for at least 4 hours.

Step 2:

Drain the water and grind the Urad Dal into a coarse paste.

Step 3:

Add the Salt, Cumin Seeds, Green Chillies, and Coriander Leaves to the paste and mix well.

Step 4:

Heat the oil in a deep pan over medium heat.

Step 5:

Take a small portion of the Urad Dal paste and shape it into a flat round patty.

Step 6:

Carefully slide the patty into the hot oil and deep fry until golden brown.

Step 7:

Remove the Urad Vada from the oil and drain on a paper towel.

Step 8:

Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
