Soak the Urad Dal in water for at least 2 hours.
Drain the water and transfer the Urad Dal to a pressure cooker.
Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin seeds, coriander powder, garam masala, salt, ghee, ginger-garlic paste, green chillies, onion, tomatoes and 2 cups of water.
Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook for 3-4 whistles.
Once the pressure is released, open the lid and mash the dal using a spoon.
Serve hot with steamed rice or roti.
