Ingredients

tsp oil

cumin seeds

1/2 teaspoon

mustard seeds

1/2 teaspoon

coriander cumin powder

1 teaspoon

turmeric powder

1/2 teaspoon

red chilli powder

1 teaspoon

large tomatoes, chopped

salt to taste

asafoetida

a pinch

chopped coriander leaves

Directions

Step 1:

Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat.

Step 2:

Add the cumin, mustard seeds, asafoetida and fry for a few seconds.

Step 3:

Add the turmeric and red chilli powder and fry for a few more seconds.

Step 4:

Add the chopped tomatoes, corinader powder and salt and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 5:

Reduce the heat to low and cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 6:

Add the chopped coriander leaves and mix well.

Step 7:

Serve hot with chapatis or rice.
