onion, chopped


cloves garlic, minced


ground cumin

1 teaspoon

ground coriander

1 teaspoon

garam masala

1 teaspoon

ground turmeric

1 teaspoon

chopped ginger

1 teaspoon

chili powder

1 teaspoon

kg tomatoes, chopped



1/2 cup

chopped fresh cilantro

1/4 cup

Salt to taste



Step 1:

Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion, ginger and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Step 2:

Add the cumin, coriander, garam masala, turmeric, chili powder and cook for 1 minute.

Step 3:

Add the tomatoes and water and bring to a simmer. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 4:

Add the cilantro and season with salt. Simmer for 5 minutes more.

Step 5:

Serve over cooked rice or with roti. Enjoy!
