Wash and peel the tinda. Cut into small cubes.
Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. When they start to crackle, add the chopped onion and sauté till it turns golden brown.
Add the chopped tomato and sauté for a few minutes.
Add the tinda cubes, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala and amchur powder. Mix well.
Add salt to taste and mix again.
Cover the pan and cook on low heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serve hot with chapatis or parathas.
