baking powder

baking soda

1/2 teaspoon

salt

butter, softened

Directions

Step 1:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.

Step 2:

In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

Step 3:

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Gradually stir in the dry ingredients alternately with the milk.

Step 4:

Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.

Step 5:

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
