cloves garlic, minced


ground cumin

1 teaspoon

ground coriander

1 teaspoon

garam masala

1 teaspoon

ground turmeric

1 teaspoon

ground cardamom

1/2 teaspoon

ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon

cayenne pepper

1/4 teaspoon

chopped fresh spinach

2 cups

(14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes


(14.5 ounce) can chickpeas, drained and rinsed

Salt and pepper to taste



Step 1:

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Step 2:

Add cumin, coriander, garam masala, turmeric, cardamom, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Step 3:

Add spinach and cook until wilted, about 3 minutes.

Step 4:

Add tomatoes, chickpeas, and water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 10 minutes.

Step 5:

Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
