soya chunks

1 cup

onion, finely chopped


tomato, finely chopped



1 teaspoon

garlic paste

cumin powder

1 teaspoon

coriander powder

1 teaspoon

red chilli powder

1 teaspoon

garam masala

1/2 teaspoon

turmeric powder

1/4 teaspoon


1 tablespoon

Salt to taste


1/2 cup



Step 1:

Soak the soya chunks in hot water for 10 minutes.

Step 2:

Heat oil in a pan and add the chopped onion. Fry until golden brown.

Step 3:

Add the ginger-garlic paste and fry for a few seconds.

Step 4:

Add the chopped tomato and fry until soft.

Step 5:

Add the cumin powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, garam masala and turmeric powder. Fry for a few seconds.

Step 6:

Add the soaked soya chunks and fry for a few minutes.

Step 7:

Add the water and salt to taste. Simmer for 10 minutes.

Step 8:

Serve hot with chapatis or rice.
