soya chunks (Nutrela)

1 cup

onion, finely chopped


tomato, finely chopped


green chilli, finely chopped



1 teaspoon

garlic paste

cumin seeds

1 teaspoon

coriander powder

1 teaspoon

garam masala

1 teaspoon

red chilli powder

1 teaspoon

turmeric powder

1 teaspoon

amchur powder

1 teaspoon

kasuri methi

1 teaspoon


1 tablespoon

Salt to taste



Step 1:

Soak the soya chunks in hot water for 10 minutes.

Step 2:

Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.

Step 3:

When the cumin seeds start to crackle, add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.

Step 4:

Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few seconds.

Step 5:

Add the chopped tomato and green chilli and sauté until the tomatoes are soft.

Step 6:

Add the coriander powder, garam masala, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, amchur powder and kasuri methi and mix well.

Step 7:

Add the soaked soya chunks and mix well.

Step 8:

Add salt to taste and mix well.

Step 9:

Cover the pan and cook for 10 minutes on low heat.

Step 10:

Serve hot with chapatis or rice.
