Soak the dry red chilli in 3/4 cup of warm water for about 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, transfer the chillies to a blender, add 1/2 cup of water and blend to a smooth paste.
Heat oil in pan, add garlic, ginger and onion and saute till they turn golden brown.
Add the prepared red chilli paste.
Add pepper, salt, sugar, vinegar, soy sauce and mix well.
Cook on medium flame for 10 to 15 minutes.
Your homemade schezwan sauce is ready to serve.
