Daliya (cracked wheat)

1 cup

water

2 cups

salt

1/2 teaspoon

ghee

1 tablespoon

cumin seeds

1/4 teaspoon

mustard seeds

1/4 teaspoon

turmeric powder

1/4 teaspoon

red chilli powder

1/4 teaspoon

garam masala

1/4 teaspoon

coriander powder

1/4 teaspoon

amchur powder

1/4 teaspoon

asafoetida

1/4 teaspoon

ginger

1/4 teaspoon

garlic paste

green chilli paste

1/4 teaspoon

chopped coriander leaves

1/4 teaspoon

chopped mint leaves

1/4 teaspoon

chopped curry leaves

1/4 teaspoon

chopped ginger

1/4 teaspoon

chopped garlic

1/4 teaspoon

chopped onion

1/4 teaspoon

chopped tomato

1/4 teaspoon

chopped green chilli

1/4 teaspoon

Directions

Step 1:

Heat ghee in a pan over medium heat.

Step 2:

Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, coriander powder, amchur powder, asafoetida, ginger-garlic paste, green chilli paste, chopped coriander leaves, chopped mint leaves, chopped curry leaves, chopped ginger, chopped garlic, chopped onion, chopped tomato, and chopped green chilli.

Step 3:

Saute for a few minutes until the spices are fragrant.

Step 4:

Add the Daliya and stir to combine.

Step 5:

Add the water and salt and bring to a boil.

Step 6:

Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the Daliya is cooked and the water is absorbed.

Step 7:

Serve hot with your favorite accompaniments. Enjoy!
