warm water

melted ghee or butter

Directions

Step 1:

In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and sugar.

Step 2:

Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and add the oil and warm water.

Step 3:

Mix together until a soft dough forms.

Step 4:

Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.

Step 5:

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Step 6:

Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each piece into a ball.

Step 7:

Flatten each ball into a disc shape and roll out into a thin circle.

Step 8:

Heat a non-stick pan over medium-high heat and brush with melted ghee or butter.

Step 9:

Place the roti canai onto the pan and cook for 1-2 minutes until lightly browned.

Step 10:

Flip the roti canai and cook for another 1-2 minutes until lightly browned.

Step 11:

Serve hot with your favorite curry or chutney. Enjoy!
