Rajmah (Red Kidney Beans)

large Onion, chopped


cloves Garlic, minced


Ginger, minced

1 teaspoon

Cumin Seeds

1 teaspoon

Coriander Powder

1 teaspoon

Red Chili Powder

1 teaspoon

Turmeric Powder

1 teaspoon

Garam Masala

1 teaspoon


1 teaspoon


2 tablespoons


1 cup

Fresh Coriander Leaves, chopped

1/4 cup



Step 1:

Soak the Rajmah overnight in water.

Step 2:

Drain the water and rinse the Rajmah.

Step 3:

Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat.

Step 4:

Add the cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.

Step 5:

Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.

Step 6:

Add the garlic and ginger and sauté for a few more minutes.

Step 7:

Add the coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt.

Step 8:

Stir to combine and cook for a few minutes.

Step 9:

Add the Rajmah and stir to combine.

Step 10:

Add the water and bring to a boil.

Step 11:

Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes or until the Rajmah is cooked through.

Step 12:

Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
