Soak the Rajma overnight in enough water.
Drain the water and pressure cook the Rajma with 2 cups of water for 4-5 whistles.
Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.
When the cumin seeds start to crackle, add the chopped onions and sauté till they turn golden brown.
Add the chopped tomatoes, green chillies, garam masala, red chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder.
Sauté for a few minutes and then add the cooked Rajma along with the water.
Add salt to taste and mix well.
Cook for 5-7 minutes and then add the basmati rice.
Mix well and add 2 cups of water.
Cover and cook on low heat for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked.
Serve hot with a dollop of butter.
