Raita is a condiment from the Indian subcontinent, made with dahi (plain yogurt) together with raw or cooked vegetables, and fruits. There are many types of yogurts in a Raita such as boondi raita, pineapple raita, cucumber raita, etc. It is a common part of the Indian cuisine and is often served as a side dish to complement spicy foods. It's cool and creamy texture helps to offset the spices and heat of the dishes it's served with.
