mustard seeds

1 teaspoon

turmeric powder

coriander powder

garam masala

onion, finely chopped


cloves garlic, minced


inch ginger, minced


green chilies, finely chopped


tomato puree

Salt to taste

Step 1:

Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Step 2:

Add the cumin and mustard seeds and fry for a few seconds until they start to crackle.

Step 3:

Add the turmeric, coriander, garam masala, and red chili powder and fry for a few more seconds.

Step 4:

Add the onion, garlic, ginger, and green chilies and fry until the onion is soft and translucent.

Step 5:

Add the potatoes and fry for a few minutes until they start to soften.

Step 6:

Add the tomato puree and water and bring to a boil.

Step 7:

Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes until the potatoes are cooked through and the sauce has thickened.

Step 8:

Add salt to taste and stir in the cilantro leaves.

Step 9:

Serve hot with rice or roti. Enjoy!
