Paneer Tikka Masala is a popular Indian dish made from marinated paneer (Indian cottage cheese) skewered and grilled to perfection, then simmered in a rich, robust and spicy gravy. This dish has its roots in the northern state of Punjab but is loved and relished all over India and abroad. It is rich in protein and calcium, making it a wonderful vegetarian alternative. It is typically served with naan, roti or rice.

Cut the paneer into cubes.
Mix the yogurt, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, 1 tablespoon oil, salt and garam masala.
Marinate the paneer cubes with this mixture and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Skewer the paneer cubes and grill them till they are slightly charred.
Heat the remaining oil in a pan. Add onions and fry till they turn translucent.
Add the ginger garlic paste and green chilies and saute for few minutes.
Add tomatoes, salt and the remaining spices. Cook till the oil separates.
Add grilled paneer pieces, mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Finally, garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve the paneer tikka masala hot with roti, naan or rice.
