In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, and egg.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk until just combined. Do not overmix.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or cooking spray.
Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet and cook until the edges are lightly browned and bubbles form on the surface, about 2 minutes.
Flip the pancake and cook until the other side is lightly browned, about 1 minute.
Repeat with the remaining batter.
