In a large bowl, mix together the chickpea flour, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, ajwain and salt.
Add the sliced onions and mix until the onions are evenly coated with the spices.
Add the water and mix until the mixture is thick and sticky.
Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
Take a small portion of the onion mixture and shape it into a round pakoda.
Carefully drop the pakoda into the hot oil and fry until golden brown.
Remove the pakoda from the oil and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb the excess oil.
Repeat the process with the remaining onion mixture.
Serve the onion pakoda hot with chutney or ketchup. Enjoy!
