In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, let them splutter. Add urad dal and red chillies.
Add chopped onions and salt to the pan and sauté until the onions are golden brown.
Let it cool. Once cooled, grind the mixture into a paste without adding water.
Transfer it to a bowl, your onion chutney is ready to be served.
