Ingredients

chickpeas

medium onions, chopped

medium tomatoes, chopped

green chillies, chopped

ginger garlic paste

1 tablespoon

chole masala

2 teaspoons

turmeric powder

1 teaspoon

red chilli powder

1 teaspoon

Salt to taste

all purpose flour (for bhature)

2 cups

sugar

1 teaspoon

baking soda

1/4 teaspoon

yogurt

1/2 cup

Directions

Step 1:

Soak the chickpeas overnight.

Step 2:

In a pressure cooker, add the soaked chickpeas, salt, water and cook for 3-4 whistles.

Step 3:

In a pan, heat oil and add the chopped onions. Cook until they turn golden.

Step 4:

Add the ginger garlic paste and cook for another 2 minutes.

Step 5:

Add the chopped tomatoes and green chillies and cook until the tomatoes become soft.

Step 6:

Add the chole masala, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and cooked chickpeas. Mix well and cook for 10 minutes.

Step 7:

Meanwhile, prepare the dough for bhature by mixing the flour, sugar, baking soda and yogurt. Knead into a soft dough and let it rest for 2-3 hours.

Step 8:

Make small balls from the dough and roll into a circular shape. Heat oil in a deep pan and deep fry the bhature until they puff up and turn golden.

Step 9:

Serve the hot chole with bhature.
