Basmati Rice

Onions

Raisins

1/4 cup

Mint Leaves

1/4 cup

Coriander Leaves

1/4 cup

Red Chilli Powder

1 teaspoon

Turmeric Powder

1 teaspoon

Garam Masala

1 teaspoon

Cumin Seeds

1 teaspoon

Ginger Garlic Paste

1 teaspoon

Salt to taste

Directions

Step 1:

Wash and soak the basmati rice for 30 minutes.

Step 2:

Heat ghee and oil in a pressure cooker.

Step 3:

Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.

Step 4:

Add chopped onions and fry until golden brown.

Step 5:

Add ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute.

Step 6:

Add chopped tomatoes and fry until soft.

Step 7:

Add mutton pieces and fry for 5 minutes.

Step 8:

Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and salt to taste.

Step 9:

Fry for a few minutes and then add yogurt.

Step 10:

Fry for a few minutes and then add 2 cups of water.

Step 11:

Pressure cook for 3 whistles.

Step 12:

Heat ghee in a pan and add cashew nuts and raisins.

Step 13:

Fry until golden brown and keep aside.

Step 14:

Heat oil in a pan and add chopped green chillies.

Step 15:

Add the cooked mutton and fry for a few minutes.

Step 16:

Add the soaked basmati rice and fry for a few minutes.

Step 17:

Add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil.

Step 18:

Add the fried cashew nuts and raisins.

Step 19:

Add mint leaves and coriander leaves.

Step 20:

Cover and cook on low heat for 15 minutes.

Step 21:

Serve hot with raita.
