Raisins

Ghee

Turmeric Powder

1/2 teaspoon

Red Chilli Powder

1 teaspoon

Coriander Powder

1 teaspoon

Garam Masala

1 teaspoon

Cumin Seeds

1 teaspoon

Bay Leaf

Directions

Step 1:

Wash and soak the basmati rice for 30 minutes.

Step 2:

Heat oil and ghee in a pressure cooker.

Step 3:

Add cumin seeds, bay leaf, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon sticks and fry for a few seconds.

Step 4:

Add chopped onions and fry until golden brown.

Step 5:

Add ginger garlic paste and fry for a few minutes.

Step 6:

Add chopped tomatoes and fry until soft.

Step 7:

Add mutton pieces and fry for 5 minutes.

Step 8:

Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala and salt to taste.

Step 9:

Fry for a few minutes and then add yogurt.

Step 10:

Fry for a few minutes and then add 1 cup of water.

Step 11:

Pressure cook for 10 minutes.

Step 12:

Heat oil in a pan and add cashew nuts and raisins. Fry until golden brown.

Step 13:

Add the cooked mutton and fry for a few minutes.

Step 14:

Add the soaked basmati rice and fry for a few minutes.

Step 15:

Add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil.

Step 16:

Add coriander leaves, mint leaves and green chillies.

Step 17:

Cover and cook on low heat for 15 minutes.

Step 18:

Serve hot with raita.
