In a large bowl, mix together the rice flour, urad dal flour, sesame seeds, melted butter, cumin seeds, asafoetida, red chilli powder and salt.
Add enough water to make a thick dough.
Heat oil in a deep pan.
Take a small portion of the dough and shape it into a log.
Cut the log into small pieces and drop them into the hot oil.
Fry the murukkus until they are golden brown.
Remove the murukkus from the oil and drain on a paper towel.
Serve the murukkus hot or at room temperature. Enjoy!
