whole wheat flour

1 cup

oats

1/4 cup

cornmeal

1/4 cup

bajra flour (pearl millet)

1/4 cup

jowar flour (sorghum)

1/4 cup

salt

1/2 teaspoon

water

1 cup

oil

1 tablespoon

Directions

Step 1:

In a large bowl, combine all the flours with the salt.

Step 2:

Gradually add water and begin kneading the dough until it is soft and pliable.

Step 3:

Cover the dough and let it rest for 15 minutes.

Step 4:

Divide the dough into equal portions.

Step 5:

Roll out each portion into a thin circle.

Step 6:

Heat a tawa (griddle) over medium heat.

Step 7:

Place the rolled roti on the hot tawa and cook for about 1-2 minutes.

Step 8:

Flip and cook the other side.

Step 9:

Apply a little oil on both sides and cook till it turns golden brown.

Step 10:

Serve hot with a side of curry, pickle, or yogurt.
