Mint chutney is a spicy and flavorful Indian condiment that is made with fresh mint leaves, coriander, lemon juice and some spices. It serves as a great accompaniment to various dishes like samosas, pakoras, chaat and more. This chutney is also served with biryani and other rice dishes.

fresh mint leaves

2 cups

fresh cilantro (coriander leaves)

1 cup

- 1

green chillies


small onion


lemon juice

1 teaspoon

cumin seeds

1/2 teaspoon

Salt to taste.



Step 1:

Rinse the mint leaves and cilantro under running cold water. Pat dry.

Step 2:

In a blender, combine the mint leaves, cilantro, green chillies, onion, lemon juice, cumin seeds and salt.

Step 3:

Blend until smooth. If required, add little water.

Step 4:

Transfer the chutney to a bowl and serve fresh. This chutney can also be refrigerated for a few days and used as needed.
