In a large bowl, mix together the flour, carom seeds, salt, and red chili powder.
Add the ghee and oil and mix until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
Slowly add water, a little at a time, and knead the dough until it is soft and pliable.
Cover the dough and let it rest for 15 minutes.
Divide the dough into small balls.
Roll each ball into a thin circle.
Prick the circles with a fork.
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
Fry the mathris until they are golden brown.
Drain the mathris on a paper towel and let them cool.
Serve the mathris with tea or chutney. Enjoy!
