Wash and soak the Basmati Rice for 30 minutes.
Heat ghee and oil in a pressure cooker.
Add the chopped onions and fry until golden brown.
Add the ginger-garlic paste and fry for a few minutes.
Add the chopped tomatoes and fry until soft.
Add the green chillies, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder and garam masala. Fry for a few minutes.
Add the green peas and fry for a few minutes.
Add the soaked Basmati Rice and fry for a few minutes.
Add the water and salt to taste.
Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook for 2 whistles.
Once the pressure is released, open the lid and fluff the Matar Pulao with a fork.
Serve hot with raita or any curry of your choice.
