Mango rice is a tangy, South Indian dish made with cooked rice, raw mangoes and spices. It is also known as 'Manga Sadam' in Tamil Nadu and is especially popular during the mango season. It's a quick, incredibly flavorful dish that can be served on its own or with curd and pickle. A bliss for all mango lovers, it is a nice mix of sweet, sour and spicy.

Cook the rice and let it cool.
Grate the raw mango and keep it aside.
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, urad dal, asafoetida, peanuts, red chillies, green chillies and curry leaves. Sauté till the dal becomes golden brown.
Now, add grated mango, turmeric powder and salt. Cook it for 2-3 minutes.
Add the cooked rice to this mango mixture and mix well.
Mango rice is ready to serve. Enjoy it with raita or pickle.
