Wash and soak the rice and moong dal for 15 minutes.
Heat ghee and oil in a pressure cooker.
Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few seconds.
Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala, red chili powder and salt.
Add the soaked rice and moong dal and mix well.
Add 2 cups of water and stir.
Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook for 2 whistles.
Once the pressure is released, open the lid and fluff the khichri with a fork.
Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot.
