Ingredients

large karela (bitter gourd)

2

cumin seeds

1/2 teaspoon

coriander powder

1/2 teaspoon

turmeric powder

1/4 teaspoon

red chilli powder

1/4 teaspoon

garam masala

1/2 teaspoon

amchur powder

1 teaspoon

oil

1 tablespoon

Salt to taste

Directions

Step 1:

Wash and peel the karela. Cut into thin slices.

Step 2:

Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.

Step 3:

When the cumin seeds start to crackle, add the karela slices and sauté for a few minutes.

Step 4:

Add the coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala and amchur powder.

Step 5:

Mix well and cook for a few minutes.

Step 6:

Add salt to taste and mix well.

Step 7:

Cook for a few minutes until the karela is cooked through.

Step 8:

Serve hot with chapatis or rice.
