large karela (bitter gourd)

cumin seeds

1 teaspoon

coriander powder

1 teaspoon

red chilli powder

1 teaspoon

amchur powder

1 teaspoon

garam masala

1 teaspoon

turmeric powder

1 teaspoon

Salt to taste

oil

2 tablespoons

water

Directions

Step 1:

Wash and cut the karela into thin slices.

Step 2:

Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.

Step 3:

When the cumin seeds start to crackle, add the karela slices and sauté for a few minutes.

Step 4:

Add all the dry spices and mix well.

Step 5:

Add water and cover the pan with a lid.

Step 6:

Cook on low heat for 10-15 minutes or until the karela is cooked.

Step 7:

Serve hot with chapati or rice.
