besan (gram flour)

2 cups

red chilli powder

1/2 teaspoon

turmeric powder

1/2 teaspoon

coriander powder

1/2 teaspoon

cumin powder

1/2 teaspoon

garam masala

1/2 teaspoon

aamchur (dry mango powder)

1/2 teaspoon

baking soda

1/2 teaspoon


1/2 teaspoon


2 tablespoons


1/2 cup

chopped coriander leaves

2 tablespoons

chopped green chillies

2 tablespoons

Oil for deep frying



Step 1:

In a large bowl, mix together the besan, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, aamchur, baking soda, salt, oil, water, coriander leaves and green chillies.

Step 2:

Mix everything together until it forms a thick batter.

Step 3:

Heat oil in a deep pan or kadhai.

Step 4:

Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and deep fry until golden brown.

Step 5:

Remove the pakodas from the oil and drain on a paper towel.

Step 6:

Serve hot with chutney or ketchup. Enjoy!
