jowar flour

2 cups


1/2 teaspoon

cumin seeds

1/2 teaspoon

carom seeds

1/2 teaspoon

red chili powder

1/4 teaspoon

turmeric powder

1/4 teaspoon


1/4 cup

warm water

1/2 cup



Step 1:

In a large bowl, mix together the jowar flour, salt, cumin seeds, carom seeds, red chili powder, and turmeric powder.

Step 2:

Add the oil and mix until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

Step 3:

Slowly add the warm water and knead the dough until it is soft and pliable.

Step 4:

Cover the dough and let it rest for 15 minutes.

Step 5:

Divide the dough into 8 equal portions.

Step 6:

Roll each portion into a thin circle, about 6 inches in diameter.

Step 7:

Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat.

Step 8:

Place the rolled bhakri on the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown.

Step 9:

Serve hot with chutney or pickle. Enjoy!
