Paneer Pakoda is a traditional snack dish that is popular across India. It is made up of paneer slices, coated with gram flour (besan) batter and then deep-fried until golden and crispy. This spicy and crunchy dish is often served with green chutney or ketchup and makes for a perfect accompaniment with a cup of hot tea.

Cut the paneer into thick slices.
In a bowl, mix together the besan, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, ajwain, and salt.
Gradually add water to the mixture and whisk until it forms a smooth batter.
Heat the oil in a deep pan.
Dip each piece of paneer into the batter until it's well coated.
Carefully drop the paneer pieces into the hot oil.
Deep-fry the paneer pieces until they're golden brown and crispy on all sides.
Use a slotted spoon to remove the pakodas from the oil.
Drain the pakodas on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
Serve hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup.
