Ingredients

grated carrots

ghee (clarified butter)

cardamom powder

1/4 teaspoon

chopped pistachios or almonds for garnish.

Directions

Step 1:

Wash, peel, and grate the carrots.

Step 2:

Heat the ghee in a heavy bottomed pan.

Step 3:

Add the grated carrots to the pan and saute until they are slightly changed in color.

Step 4:

Add the milk and bring the mixture to a boil.

Step 5:

Simmer the heat and let the mixture cook until the milk reduces to half.

Step 6:

Stir in the sugar and mix until it is well combined.

Step 7:

Sprinkle the cardamom powder and cook for a couple of more minutes.

Step 8:

Garnish the halwa with chopped nuts and serve warm or cold.
