Rinse the lentils and then soak them in water for 10 minutes.
Cook the brown rice according to the package instructions.
In a deep pan, sauté the onions and garlic until they are golden brown.
Add the tomatoes, turmeric powder, and salt to the pan and cook until the tomatoes are soft.
Drain the lentils and add them to the pan. Add enough water to cover the lentils and then simmer until the lentils are cooked through.
