Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak it in water for 30 minutes, then drain.
Heat the oil in a pan, add the cumin seeds, cardamom, and cinnamon and let them crackle.
Add the sliced onion and garlic, and sauté till golden brown.
Now add the green peas, and sauté for a few more minutes.
Add the drained rice, water, and salt. Mix well.
Cover the pan and cook on low heat until the rice is cooked and all the water is absorbed.
Fluff up the rice gently using a fork.
Serve the Green Peas Pulao hot with any curry or yogurt.
