peeled and grated carrots

fat milk

3/4 cup

ghee (clarified butter)

cardamom powder

1/2 teaspoon

Directions

Step 1:

Heat ghee in a pan and add the grated carrots. Saute the carrots for about 6-8 mins.

Step 2:

Add milk into the pan with the sautéed carrots and cook them together on a low flame.

Step 3:

Once the milk has reduced considerably and the carrots are cooked thoroughly, add sugar, cardamom powder, and the nuts.

Step 4:

Cook on a low flame until the halwa thickens and leaves the sides of the pan.

Step 5:

Gajar halwa is best served hot, garnished with nuts.
