Soak the flattened rice in water for 10 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
When the seeds start to splutter, add the chopped onion and sauté until it turns golden brown.
Add the chopped tomatoes, green chillies, turmeric powder and red chilli powder.
Sauté for a few minutes until the tomatoes are cooked.
Add the soaked flattened rice and mix well.
Add salt to taste and mix well.
Cover the pan and cook for 5 minutes on low heat.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
