Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and curry leaves.
When the seeds start to splutter, add the chopped onions and fry till they turn golden brown.
Add the chopped tomatoes and fry for a few minutes.
Add the slit green chillies, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala.
Fry for a few minutes and then add the fish pieces.
Fry for a few minutes and then add 1/2 cup of water.
Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes or until the fish is cooked.
Add salt to taste and serve hot with steamed rice.
