In a bowl, mix the custard powder in a little milk till it forms a smooth paste.
Boil the rest of the milk with the sugar in a saucepan.
Gradually add the custard paste to the boiling milk, keep stirring to avoid any lumps.

Remove from the flame, add the vanilla extract and stir well.
Allow the custard to cool and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
