Arhar Dal

1 cup

Ghee

2 tablespoons

Cumin Seeds

1 teaspoon

Turmeric Powder

1 teaspoon

Red Chilli Powder

1 teaspoon

Coriander Powder

1 teaspoon

Garam Masala

1 teaspoon

Salt

1 teaspoon

Green Chillies (chopped)

Chopped Coriander Leaves

2 tablespoons

Water

Directions

Step 1:

Wash and soak the Arhar Dal in water for 30 minutes.

Step 2:

Heat ghee in a pressure cooker.

Step 3:

Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.

Step 4:

Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala and salt.

Step 5:

Add the soaked Arhar Dal and mix well.

Step 6:

Add the chopped green chillies and coriander leaves.

Step 7:

Add 2 cups of water and mix well.

Step 8:

Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook for 3-4 whistles.

Step 9:

Once the pressure is released, open the lid and mix the dal.

Step 10:

Serve hot with steamed rice or roti.
