Wash and soak the basmati rice for 30 minutes.
Heat ghee and oil in a pressure cooker.
Add bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, cloves and cardamom pods.
Add onions and green chillies and sauté until golden brown.
Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes.
Add chicken cubes and sauté until lightly browned.
Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, cumin powder and turmeric powder.
Add the soaked basmati rice and mix well.
Add water and salt to taste.
Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook for 2 whistles.
Once the pressure is released, open the lid and fluff the rice with a fork.
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
