Basmati Rice

Red Chilli Powder

Coriander Powder

1 teaspoon

Garam Masala

1 teaspoon

Green Chillies, finely chopped

Chicken, cubed

2 cups

Yogurt

2 tablespoons

Lemon Juice

2 tablespoons

Fresh Coriander, chopped

2 tablespoons

Salt to taste

Directions

Step 1:

Soak the basmati rice in water for 30 minutes.

Step 2:

Heat the ghee and oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and cardamom pods and fry for 1 minute.

Step 3:

Add the cumin seeds and fry for another minute.

Step 4:

Add the onion and fry until golden brown.

Step 5:

Add the garlic, ginger, turmeric, red chilli powder, coriander powder, and garam masala and fry for 1 minute.

Step 6:

Add the green chillies and chicken and fry for 5 minutes.

Step 7:

Add the yogurt, lemon juice, and fresh coriander and fry for another minute.

Step 8:

Add the soaked basmati rice and salt to taste and mix well.

Step 9:

Add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil.

Step 10:

Reduce the heat to low and cover the pot. Cook for 15 minutes or until the rice is cooked.

Step 11:

Serve hot with raita or your favorite accompaniment. Enjoy!
