Step 1:

Heat a skillet over medium heat.

Step 2:

Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.

Step 3:

Place one slice of bread, butter side down, in the skillet.

Step 4:

Place the cheese slices on top of the bread.

Place the other slice of bread, butter side up, on top of the cheese.

Step 6:

Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the bottom slice of bread is golden brown.

Step 7:

Flip the sandwich and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the other side is golden brown.

Step 8:

Remove from heat and season with salt and pepper, if desired.

Step 9:

Serve and enjoy!
