onion, finely chopped

green chilies, finely chopped


cashew nuts, soaked in water for 30 minutes

Salt to taste



Step 1:

Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat.

Step 2:

Add the cumin, mustard and fenugreek seeds and fry for a few seconds.

Step 3:

Add the turmeric, coriander and red chili powder and fry for a few more seconds.

Step 4:

Add the onion, garlic, ginger and green chilies and fry until the onion is golden brown.

Step 5:

Add the cashew nuts and fry for a few minutes.

Step 6:

Add the water and bring to a boil.

Step 7:

Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.

Step 8:

Add the garam masala and salt to taste.

Step 9:

Simmer for a few more minutes until the sauce has thickened.

Step 10:

Serve hot with rice or roti.
